NIBS (National Institute of Building Sciences) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that successfully brings together representatives of government, the professions, industry, labor and consumer interests, and regulatory agencies to focus on the identification and resolution of problems and potential problems that hamper the construction of safe, affordable structures for housing, commerce and industry throughout the United States.
WBDG (Whole Building Design Guide) is the professional organization that supports the COBie2 guideline. The goal of 'Whole Building' Design is to create a successful high-performance building by applying an integrated design and team approach to the project during the planning and programming phases.

IFMA (International Facility Management Association): is the world’s largest and most widely recognized international association for professional facility managers, supporting more than 19,000 members in 78 countries. Formed in 1980, IFMA certifies facility managers, conducts research, provides educational programs, recognizes facility management certificate programs and produces World Workplace, the world’s largest facility management conference and exposition.
CSI (Construction Specifications Institute): is a technical organization that works to organize, standardize, and communicate construction information. CSI is unique in that it facilitates an exchange of information between all participants in the construction process—a benefit not found in one-discipline organizations.
CFTA (Campus Facility & Technology Association): the unique character of the Association lies in its focus on the development and application of the tools of technology across multiple disciplines for the planning, development, maintenance, and management of campus facilities. It is our mission to serve our members and society at large by facilitating the success of our constituents.
MOAPPA (Missouri Association of Physical Plant Administrators): promotes excellence in all phases of educational facilities management, including administration, planning, design, construction, energy/utilities, maintenance, and operations. Membership is open to all educational facilities professionals, including those from public and private, two-year and four-year colleges and universities; medical and law schools; seminaries; public and private K12 schools and districts; museums and parks; military installations; federal, state and city-county governments, and business partners that serve educational facilities.
