Who is BuildingWorks, Inc.?

BuildingWorks, Inc is a professional firm with a primary focus of the management of building documentation.  We are dedicated to providing the most accurate, current accessible and updatable electronic building information.

What is datastart?

datastart is a cloud based tool for the construction team during the construction process from preconstruction to closeout of the project.  It offers real-time visibility, communication and collaboration.  It facilitates easy exchange of submittal information and workflow approval process.  The datastart  archive houses all of the information that flows during the construction process

What is datasphere?

datasphere is an electronic closeout document tool that is the  ‘as-built’ if the datastart information.  It is interactive and lives for the life of the building---meaning that the tool is easily updatable as changes occur in the building and to the building.  Unlike other electronic closeout documents datasphere is organized and presented at the room or area level for easy access by the facility maintenance staff and other stakeholders.  Working with the facility department we can provide an updated datasphere as needed.

Why do I need a datasphere?

What is dataview?

dataview is a cloud based datasphere through a secure login process.  dataview allows any stakeholder to view their datasphere anywhere, anytime.  dataview also provides easy to use templates for the facility department to make the needed changes and updates to their datasphere when the change occurs.

What are other benefits if I have a datasphere?

Studies show that just by maintaining your equipment to manufacturer’s recommendations you can save between 5% and 30%.  But that means you must have the correct and complete manuals do to that.  That is what BuildingWorks datasphere is all about---providing that quick and easy access to those maintenance manuals.

It is also a fact that  over 90% of the total lifecycle cost of the building comes after construction and during operation.  So the datasphere can save man-hours in ‘hunting’ and locating the drawing or manual if the information is not readily available to the maintenance staff.  In addition, by properly maintaining the equipment the life expectancy of that equipment is extended saving money.

What is datacive?

datacive is the tool that centralizes and provides visibility of all the existing building documents.  If needed, we can provide the scanning service for digitalizing the information and then present that information in a datasphere look for the effective and cost efficient maintenance of the building

How easy is it to get started with BuildingWorks? 

Just fill out the information here on the site. We will contact you to discuss your needs and determine your Level of Service.  We can provide a budgetary cost for any of the tools.  And moving forward we work with the owner, contractor, architect and engineers to access the drawings and specifications that allow BuildingWorks to finalize the cost and provide a proposal based on your building documents. It is that easy.

What if we need future additions/changes to the datasphere?  

Since the datasphere is a report from our database software, datacentral, it is very easy for BuildingWorks to make changes or to add any future project additions to the current database.
